Kirby Goidel,

Dr. Goidel is the Director of the Public Policy Research Lab and a professor of mass communication and political science at LSU. As the Director of the PPRL, he oversees the direction of the lab, works with clients to develop projects, write survey questionnaires, analyze data and present research findings. He has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Kentucky and is the author of two books and numerous academic journal articles.

Christopher Kenny, Ph.D. Deputy Director |
As Deputy Director, Dr. Kenny assists the Director in all aspects of survey lab functions. These duties include the various aspects of the internal operation of the lab, such as assisting with all phases of survey development including questionnaire design, data analysis and manipulation and report writing, as well as assisting with the recruitment of workers for the lab. Dr. Kenny also helps with business development, including both on campus and off campus meetings to promote the lab, attempting to get overflow business from other labs around the country and grant writing. As a professor of political science at LSU, Dr. Kenny specializes in campaigns and elections, mass political behavior, and the process of social influence. His current research focuses on the role of the microenvironment in attitude change, and on the role of interest groups in the electoral process. He earned his doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis in 1989.

Kathryn Rountree |
As Operations Manager, Ms. Rountree is responsible for the overall daily operations of a fully functioning public opinion polling facility. She hires the top candidates to fulfill supervisory and interviewing roles; develops policies, procedures and training modules to ensure a quality skill-set and professionalism at the highest levels. Ms. Rountree develops project budgets, client information and processes payroll. She also provides leadership for the staff members and students; interacts with external and internal constituencies and communicates with the lab director and deputy director about status of projects. Ms. Rountree has experience in government relations and marketing, having spent time working on Capitol Hill for Former Chairman of the House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee W.J. “Billy” Tauzin and serving as Marketing Director for the lobbying firm Capitol Solutions in Washington, D.C. She has a B.A. from Louisiana State University in mass communication and is currently pursuing a M.A. in European History from LSU.

Srinivas Thouta |
Mr. Thouta is responsible for management of all aspects of systems and technology at PPRL, including application development, systems operations and the network infrastructure. He directs the design and development of programs and survey software to ensure the efficient operation of internal systems. He has a track record of successfully managing projects for public and private organizations. Prior to PPRL, he held software leadership roles at Infosys Technologies, a multinational information technology services company. Mr. Thouta has a Masters in Computer Science and Masters in Engineering Management from LSU. He is also a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute.
